Friday 18th October

Early rain. Sunny from mid-morning. 8/12/8c. E2

HOGGANFIELD LOCH
Took the bus across to the East side of the city to pay homage to the Whooper Swans that arrived last weekend. Although it was initially 8 birds that arrived, 2 must have moved on as there were only 6 present today.
All the other usual species were seen but a mention must go to ;
Common Buzzard 2
Mute Swan (colour-ringed Green TSX. Rung as a cygnet at Craiglockhart Pond, Edinburgh on 19th August 2017)

    1. Thank you as always for your kind words Caroline.
      A small number of Whoopers winter at Hogganfield and like much of tbe wildlife of this city, they show no fear of people whatsoever.
