Friday 13th March

ARDROSSAN/SALTCOATS
Took the train out to what has become one of my favourite sites on the North Ayrshire coast...and i had a great time pointing my camera at a selection of subjects.
The last pic is of the tubers of Hemlock Water Dropwort aka Sea Parsnips. There`s been a lot of these (the most toxic plant in the UK) washed up along the west coast beaches, after the recent storms.

  1. What is the difference between Shag and Cormorant?

    These images seem to be extra sharp today.

    Tha lst shot even looks poisonous!

  2. Shags are smaller/slimmer, more Green coloured, the prominent crest during the breeding season, thinner beaks.

    I think the sharpness is down to the excellent light, much better than we've had of late.

    Every part of the plant is deadly.
