Tuesday 2nd June

High cloud. 10/22/12c. W/NW1-3

Started the day checking the moth trap and there seems to be a wee bit of a theme going on in that there was only 2 species again, along with a couple of Caddis Flies.
Then, just like last week i took the scenic route along the River Kelvin to do a bit of shopping at Iceland and back home along the canal.
So, here`s what i pointed the camera at today ;

Had the trap out overnight and again it was another poor catch with just a single Bee Moth & 2 Heart & Dart.
The walk along the canal to Morrisons at Anniesland provided a couple of photographic subjects.

Friday 29th May

Sunny. 9/25/18c. S2

First job of the day was to check on the Moth trap and it was another poor catch with just a single Poplar Hawkmoth & a couple of Caddis Flies. However i do have another Moth to report with the emergence of a Coleophora serratella from a larval case i collected off a Birch some weeks back.
Then i was off along the canal to check on the pair of Mute Swans at Kelvindale (the one where the male got taken into care with a fractured skull). Both birds were still together but only 1 egg has hatched so far and the female was still sitting tight on the nest.
Right, on with today`s images ;

Stock Dove 8+
Dipper 1
Also managed to point the camera at a few subjects.
Gave my new Moth trap it`s first run out in the back court, last night. I`ve got to say I wasn`t impressed with the results but I think that`s down to the lack of Moths and not the trap`s ability. I only managed 2 species, with singles of White-shouldered House-moth & Flame Carpet
