HOGGANFIELD LOCH
Didnae decide to venture out to this site till late morning but it was worth it. Highlights ;
Whooper Swan 12 (inc Alloy ringed bird W42453)
Mute Swan (Green TSX & Alloy W35690 still present)
Goldeneye 4
Black-headed Gull (Red 2N90) This is the 4th colour-ringed bird I`ve seen over the last few weeks but I`ve still yet to hear from the relevant ringing project.

Monday 28th October

I have been out most days since my last post but not had a lot to report/photograph....so it was good to see a few things for a change.

F&C CANAL (Ruchill St > Lock 27)
Cormorant 6 (on one of the old bridge supports, River Kelvin)

Peregrine 1 (circling high over the gas tanks, Anniesland)

Just a short walk along the canal and no less than 4 Foxes were seen, 3 of which were well hidden amongst the vegetation unlike this showy individual ;

HOGGANFIELD LOCH
Took the bus across to the East side of the city to pay homage to the Whooper Swans that arrived last weekend. Although it was initially 8 birds that arrived, 2 must have moved on as there were only 6 present today.
All the other usual species were seen but a mention must go to ;
Common Buzzard 2
Mute Swan (colour-ringed Green TSX. Rung as a cygnet at Craiglockhart Pond, Edinburgh on 19th August 2017)

Had a brilliant afternoon out on this area of the Ayrshire coastline..and it was only a 30 minute train ride from Glasgow.

A glorious day, the first dry one we`ve had for well over a week. Highlights ;

Fox 4 (3 of which were well hidden on the far bank but when you know where to look, spotting them becomes easy)

A short and somewhat quiet walk but still managed to see a couple of things ;

Red Admiral 1
Just happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture a Rainbow reflecting on the water at Maryhill Locks.

Friday 11th October

ARDROSSAN/SALTCOATS
Took a 30 minute train ride out to the coast and despite the strong winds & heavy showers, a brilliant day was had.
The main highlights were 2 new species for my Clydeside list, with 4 Guillemots in Ardrossan Harbour and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers at Saltcoats.
Other notables were ;

Curlew
Redshank
Turnstone
Raven 1 (over Ardrossan Harbour)
